American Escrima

 Escrima, Arnis, and Kali are all names for the Filipino martial arts known for their stick and knife fighting. Master Howard trained extensively under late Grandmaster Remy Presas, founder of Modern Arnis. He also trained in other versions of the Filipino arts including the Inosanto version of Kali and the Advincula version of Escrima. With the help of Soke Dan McCaslin of Kami Bushi Do Karate style, Master Howard developed the American Escrima stick fighting system. American escrima removed techniques that were style specific leaving only the most practical blocking, striking, and flowing counter techniques. American Escrima was specifically developed to be easily incorporated into any style of martial arts as a supplemental curriculum, but several schools of different styles have adopted the American Escrima System into their own style.
